About me

I first discovered sewing when I was 16 and starting sixth form college, since then I’ve barely stopped and still love sewing and Textiles.

I studied at London College of Fashion before deciding to train as a Textiles Teacher. I have been teaching Textiles to 11-18 year olds, at a secondary school in Norfolk for 8 years now.

I’ve always had a sewing project on the go whether it was embroidery, patchwork or making examples for the students at school. When I had my first daughter Martha in 2016 my sewing projects changed to nursery interior products and baby clothes. It wasn’t until my second daughter, April, was born in 2018 I started to think about selling my makes. It took me a good year and a half to pluck up the courage (I didn’t think anyone would be interested in my makes with all the amazing handmade shops out there!) then in May 2020 I launched Olivia And Rose. My inspiration for brand and my new venture was my girls, so it was only fair I named the business after them. Martha Rose and April Olivia.

My first opening for orders was on Instagram and I was completely blown away by the amount of people who wanted to buy one of my products. Every time I opened for orders I had to close within minutes to keep my turnaround time reasonable.

I love traditional styles and try to source good quality cotton fabrics that are kind to little people’s skin. I am so grateful to anyone who has ever made a purchase, liked a picture on Instagram or taken the time to look at my website. You are supporting my dream.
